Where to ask a question, report a bug, or just watch the game develop — with a clear line between official channels and community spaces.

Short answer
Where do Hawthorn players talk about the game?
The official Discord is the centre of gravity — it is where NEARstudios collects playtest bug reports and asks the community what to cover next. For announcements, the official news index and the Steam Community Hub are authoritative. Reddit is useful for sentiment but is not a source of fact.
We only publish links we can verify are official. Where a platform link lives behind the official site’s social list, we point there rather than guessing a URL.
| Hub | Best for | Official? | Link |
|---|---|---|---|
| Official Discord | Bug reports during playtests, live Q&A, and which topics the team should deep-dive next | Yes — linked from the official site and named in every playtest post | Find the invite on playhawthorn.com → |
| Steam Community Hub | Update history, discussions and community groups tied to your library | Yes — operated by Valve for the store listing | Open the Steam Community Hub → |
| Official news index | Announcements, development updates and playtest windows | Yes — the primary source | playhawthorn.com/news → |
| Kickstarter project | Backer updates, tier definitions and campaign comments | Yes | Open the Kickstarter project → |
| Studio socials | Short-form video, screenshots and announcements | Yes — the official site lists Steam, Discord, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, X, Facebook, Twitch and LinkedIn | See current links on the official site → |
| Honest player sentiment, questions and speculation | No — community-run | Jump to the subreddits below ↓ |
One practical note on Steam: the store page links to a Community Hub with discussions and groups. It is the best low-effort way to keep up without joining another app: open the Hawthorn Steam page.
No subreddit is officially run by NEARstudios, and nothing posted there is a source of fact. It is, however, the best place to see what players are actually arguing about.
NEARstudios lists press@nearstudios.com on its official site for press enquiries. Hawthorn Wiki is not connected to the studio and cannot handle press, business or partnership requests — we will only redirect you.

Community channels shape this site in two specific ways, and never a third:
What they never do is establish a fact. Every gameplay claim on this wiki traces back to an entry in the source ledger.
